At the end of April, the castle in Nové Město nad Metují was transformed into a vibrant meeting place for science, technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, and sustainability. We are still absorbing all the impressions from a weekend that once again proved this concept has a firm place in the Hradec Králové Region.

The third year of the fair in the spirit of a LIVING LABORATORY

On April 24 and 25, 2026, the historic castle grounds became a true “living laboratory” of ideas, technology, and inspiration. This very image accompanied this year’s event from the very beginning—it was not a passive display of exhibits, but a place where visitors could test, experience, and understand innovations in practice.

The authors of the concept, Rado Vejchoda from Plus inovace / CIRI and Jan Hable from DoDna Party, had a clear goal from the start: to create a space where entrepreneurs, scientists, students, creatives, and the general public naturally connect. At the same time, they wanted to show that this very connection makes the Hradec Králové Region a strong, confident, and competitive region—a place where we not only can, but above all, want to live.

In one word: THANK YOU!

Rado Vejchoda

Founder of the fair

One castle, four worlds of innovation

This year’s NOVO EXPO +inovace offered visitors four thematic areas focused on science, technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity and sustainability. Each area provided a different perspective on how innovation is reflected in everyday life, education, industry, health, and a responsible approach to the environment around us.

Visitors could try out modern technologies, look into the world of healthcare and research, and encounter robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, drones, digital manufacturing, design, and the principles of the circular economy. For two days, the castle was once again transformed into a place where tradition meets the future.

A program that drew visitors into the action

The fair also included a rich accompanying program. Discussions and meetings with inspiring personalities drew great attention, including Tomáš Šebek, Klaudia Zusková, Tomáš Pětivoký, Marian Jelínek, Jan Skolník, Hugo Repáň, Karolína Nováková, Karel Martínek, Michal Broža, Petr Kutnar, Martin Pavlas, and Jitka Kaplanová.

Topics touched upon health, longevity, motivation, technology, business, and personal development. The sheer diversity of the program showed that innovation is not just a matter of technology, but also of courage, cooperation, finding one’s own path, and the ability to look at the world in a new way.

NOVO EXPO +inovace for the first time under the auspices of President Petr Pavel

The third year reaffirmed that NOVO EXPO +inovace is not just an exhibition event. It is a living platform that connects people, ideas, experiences, and opportunities. It shows that innovation can be understandable, practical, playful, and inspiring—and that it makes sense when it happens together.

Proof that the entire concept of the fair truly makes sense is the fact that this year’s event was held under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Pavel. We value this support, and it also represents a commitment for us for the years to come.
