Project description
EDIH NEB is a joint project of a consortium of entities from the Liberec and Hradec Králové regions focused on digital services. The mission of the EDIH is to serve as a hub between all entities and, at the same time, as a contact point for customers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and public administration from the Liberec and Hradec Králové regions. EDIH offers solutions in the field of digitalization of processes, products, and services, including consultancy in the area of subsidy sources. Furthermore, it focuses on the application of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. EDIH organizes educational and networking events and generally spreads awareness about modern trends associated with ones and zeros. The fundamental impact on the region and benefit for customers is the increase in competitiveness and efficiency within companies and public administration. We save our customers time and money and increase the quality of their products and services.
The aim of the project is to support the implementation of digital technologies in companies and public administration, which will lead to increased competitiveness and innovation.

They streamline processes and improve the quality of products or services. We will provide you with a complete service in all phases of digitalization, from the initial idea to the results. We identify possibilities, propose solutions, and test them.
→ For companies and public administration organizations that want to address current challenges through the implementation of digital technologies, regardless of their level of digital maturity. - Digital Academy We realize the power of education, whether in a broader context or in the context of modern digital technologies. We organize educational events thematically focused on digital skills, from basic to advanced levels.
→ For all entities of the innovation ecosystem, startups, companies, public administration organizations, and academic and commercial research facilities. - Innovation development We develop the innovation ecosystem at regional, national, and European levels. We act as an active intermediary connecting companies and public administration organizations that need new technological solutions on one hand, with companies that have modern solutions ready for practical application on the other.
→ For all entities of the innovation ecosystem, startups, companies, public administration organizations, and academic and commercial research facilities. - Subsidy management We offer assistance with searching for and processing subsidy calls for the digitalization of companies and organizations from regional, national, and European sources.

Members of the EDIH NEB consortium
The consortium consists of 7 organizations from the Hradec Králové and Liberec regions, which will make it possible to more effectively utilize and support the digital innovation potential of both regions. Each of the participating entities plays an indispensable role within the planned activities. Universities and research organizations will offer their technological and expert potential, while regional agencies and the National Cluster Association will fulfill the role of intermediaries in finding investors, clients, and partners for the EDIH.
Regional Development Agency, Ltd.
The consortium leader provides expert support to residents, entrepreneurs, and institutions in the Liberec Region. It focuses on subsidy management, development projects, support for science, research, and innovation, and other topics. An integral part of ARR is the Liberec Business Incubator Lipo.ink, which supports the creation and development of innovative companies in the region. Lipo.ink is part of the Ynovate network of professional innovation centers.
Centre for Investment, Development and Innovation
The development agency of the Hradec Králové Region supports small and medium-sized enterprises in finding investments for the development of their business. It develops the regional innovation ecosystem and creates conditions for networking among its clients and other entities in the region.
Technical University of Liberec
The university offers modern facilities for research and development. It is at the global forefront in the field of nanotechnology. It is strong in the area of digital technologies. It has a workplace focused on AI, specifically on speech recognition and synthesis, machine learning, neural networks, and signal processing. It deals with mixed reality, robotics, cybernetics, and the modeling of coupled processes.
VÚTS, a.s.
A top research center engaged in development in the field of machinery and equipment for the processing industry. The domain of VÚTS is a comprehensive approach based on competencies in a number of fields. In connection with digitalization, this includes automation and robotization of production processes for Industry 4.0, machine vision and learning, 2D and 3D scanning, reverse engineering, measurement of machinery and equipment parameters, calculations, simulations, optimization, additive manufacturing technologies (3D printing), and more.
National Cluster Association
The umbrella organization for cluster organizations operating in the Czech Republic. It coordinates the cluster environment composed of companies, research centers, universities, and other entities of the innovation ecosystem. Through its member organizations, it brings together hundreds of domestic companies. It specializes, among other things, in providing services in the field of cybersecurity, which it develops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with the Central European metacluster CEDEG.
University of Hradec Králové
The university fulfills the role of a scientific institution in the Hradec Králové Region. We provide the ‘test before invest’ service to companies. It focuses on AI fields: research into neural networks, machine learning, bioinformatics, and others. It helps companies with the innovation of business processes and the development of advanced digital skills.
